Loyd Dale Isley, 67, of Sallisaw, passed away Friday, October 28, 2016 in Fort Smith. He was born on November 15, 1948 in Wagoner, OK to Oscar David and Hazel Ester (Watkins) Isley.Loyd was married to Danna Lou Sumpter and to this union a son, Wayne Lee, was born. He was a graduate of NSU and also a firefighter for the Brent Fire Dept. He retired from the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers in 2003 after 28 years of service. During his service, he had been a park ranger, lake manager and environmental specialist. He was one of the first to catalog the nesting of bald eagles and was very instrumental in the formation of the Eagle Restoration Program in Oklahoma. After his retirement, he worked with FEMA in disaster relief in multiple states. He was an avid hunter and fisherman throughout his life and he was a great Father, Son, Brother and a Friend to many. Loyd was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers; Eddie Leroy Isley and Bobby Ray Isley and 2 sisters; Faye Bell Isley Kannada and Macel Ruth Isley Green.Loyd is survived by his son-Wayne, Brother and Sister-in-law; Floyd Lee and Anna May Isley, 1 grandson-Chandler Allen Isley and also his long time friend; Kathleen Hunter and her daughter-Kelly Hunter.Memorial Services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, November 5, 2016 in the Sequoyah Memorial Chapel of Forever Memories Funeral Services with Pastor Greg Burnsed officiating. Honorary Bearers will be; Lance Calhoun, Todd Carr, Greg Barnes, Bob Burnett, Lance Purdue, Justin Fox, Larry Fears and Charlie Christie.
