Biography

Travis Allen Smith, 33, of Vian, Oklahoma, passed away on April 13, 2023, in Vian, Oklahoma.

Travis was born to Jackie Smith and the late James Elmer Smith, in Richlands, Virginia, on December 14, 1989.

Travis graduated high school and immediately enlisted in the United States Navy. Travis served on the USS New Orleans (LPD 18) HP as an ENFA. He was awarded the Navy “E” Ribbon, Navy Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and Pistol Marksmanship Ribbon.

After leaving the Navy, Travis became a Boilermaker and was a proud member of the Local Union 627.

Travis, or as some of his dear friends often referred to him, as a “Big Beautiful, Bearded Man,” loved life. He loved serving his country, and he loved welding. But nothing compared to his love for fishing. His love for some good pond fishing led him to ranch life in Oklahoma with his mother and stepfather; he took great pride in being there to help tend to all the things that make ranch life exactly what it is.

Travis is survived by his mother, Jackie Smith, and stepfather, Charlie Hughart; his girlfriend, Amber Archuleta, and her children, Noah, Seth, and Luke; his older brother, JD Smith, and his wife, Kimberly Smith; his nephews, Carter and Daniel Smith, his grandparents, Danny and Linda Lowe, his aunts, Sharon, Debbie, Becky, Charlie, Candy and Angie, his uncles, Jerry, Jeff, Ray, Sid, Tim and Doug, his cousins, Layla, Shawn, Nathan, Liam, Justin, Holly, Jessica, Desirae, Billy Ray, Montana, and Jeffrey, and his dog,  The Duke.

Travis is preceded in death by his father, James Elmer Smith.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Forever Memories Funeral Services, Sequoyah Memorial Chapel, in Sallisaw, Oklahoma.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 on April 21, 2023, at Forever Memories Funeral Services, Sequoyah Memorial Chapel, in Sallisaw, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers will be JD Smith, Charlie Hughart, Nathan Cooper, Shawn Deskins, Justin Deskins, Tim Deskins, Jeff Jamison, Britt Coleman, Bryan Miskell, Kyle Dascomb, Skylar Aaron and Thomas Worthington.

Honorary Pallbearers are Danny Lowe, Liam Jamison, Jerry Ball, Jack Rose, and Ray Cordle.

Arrangements are under the direction of Forever Memories Funeral Services of Sallisaw, Oklahoma.

To my family this is very hard for me as it is for all of us, we all have been blessed to know such a fine outstanding young man that Travis had become and to know his love and to hear his laughter and to see his smiles ,I will forever be blessed to know he loved me and I love him and he will always be in my thoughts and heart ,I know he is with God and he will love him ,hear his laughter and see his smiles every day as we all got to while he was here with us on earth, we will all be together one day and they won’t be no tears,sorrow, or pain just the love we all have as a wonderful family ,may God bless us and help us get thru this difficult time that we are all facing at this time for the loss of a Beautiful Young Man my nephew Travis Allen Smith ,I Love You .
