Biography

Rebecca “Weg” Ann Flute, 61, of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, passed away on May 03, 2024. She was born in Tahlequah on October 24, 1962, to William Taylor Christie and Lyndia Elaine Christie Bush. Growing up, she enjoyed playing softball and line dancing. From a young age, she was quick-witted, which she passed on to each of her children, as well as her great sense of humor. She made things that much more fun! When she could, she took delight in a bit of traveling, and if she was going to travel, she was going to shop! Lately, she has spent most of her time watching movies, cheering on her favorite basketball teams while enjoying Braum’s, playing bingo, and, most importantly, spending time with her grandbabies. She will always be remembered for her kind and generous soul.

She is survived by her children, George “Boogie” Flute and his wife, Bertha, Warren, and partner Brian; Lavonna and her partner Shane; her brother Donald Christie; grandchildren, Josiah, Jehoiakim, Jaden, and Makiah; one great-grandchild, Everlyn; nieces, Ciara Harris and husband James, and great nephew Asher Harris, niece Tayler Wolfe and great niece Kehlani. She also leaves behind her faithful furry companions, Boo Boo Kitty, Boy Boy, Rocket, Baby, and BullsEye Kitty.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Florence Wolfe.

Pallbearers will be Boogie Flute, Shane Ferguson, James Harris, Koda Noisey, Winterhawk Grimmett, Koby Grimmett, Jakob Cheater and Timothy Pigeon.

Honorary Pallbearers are Josiah Cheater, Jehoiakim Cheater, Jaden Haymer, and Robert Harris.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 8, 2024, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM in the Sequoyah Memorial Chapel at Forever Memories Funeral Services of Sallisaw, Oklahoma. The family will greet guests from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.

Funeral services will be Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the Sequoyah Memorial Chapel at Forever Memories Funeral Services of Sallisaw, Oklahoma.

Final resting place will be Flute Springs Cemetery in Marble City, Oklahoma.

The family has entrusted the funeral arrangements to Forever Memories Funeral Services, INC.

I know ur good being w aunt Linda n uncle Bill, granny Florence, mom n dad and the rest of the family having a great reunion. Weg I will miss our talks n when u make me laugh.
