Mike Bono, 69, of Sallisaw, died on Monday, November 21, 2016 in Tulsa. He was born on October 24, 1947 in Okmulgee to Joe Anthony and Mable Marie (Bussee) Bono.Mike graduated from Okmulgee High School and had lived in Sequoyah County for over 35 years. He was a veteran of the US Army, a welder, house framer and had worked at Sallisaw Lumber. He grew a beautiful garden and had a small farm, at first they had no running water, indoor plumbing or electric. The farm helped him feed his family while giving his kids plenty of chores to do which included drawing water from the well.Mike was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother-Pat Bono.Mike is survived by 2 sons; Ronnie Bono of Sallisaw and Charles Bono of Broken Arrow. Siblings; James Bono, Philip Bono, Joanie Scheuerman, Phyllis Deborah Chase, Carol Phillips, Lucy Pollard, Regina Bono and Mary Claxton and 2 grandchildren; Daron Harwell and Hunter Philpot.Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Forever Memories Funeral Services. Funeral Services will be 2 p.m., Monday, November 28, 2016 in the Sequoyah Memorial Chapel of Forever Memories Funeral Services with Rick Parker officiating, burial will follow in the Brushy Cemetery.
