Biography

Mary Ann Cowett, 72, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, passed away in Tulsa, Oklahoma on January 19, 2024. Mary was born in Marble City, Oklahoma, to Charles “Pete” and Mary Randle (Thomas) on June 20, 1951. Mary strongly believed in Jesus Christ and is now at home with her savior. She met and married the love of her life, the late G.F. Cowett, in August of 1967. She worked as the dietary manager at Sequoyah Memorial Hospital for over 30 years.

Mary is survived by her children, Melissa and Glen Caughman of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, and John and Rhonda Cowett of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; her siblings, Dorothy and Cecil Ed Tune of Bunch, Oklahoma, Bruce and Joy Randle of Marble City, Oklahoma; and Edna “Punkin” Asbill and John Frazier of Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Her grandchildren, Mathew Caughman, Luke Caughman, Melanie Caughman, Katelynn Cowett, Holden Cowett, Ethan Cowett, and her great-grandchildren Oakley Smith, Kenlynn Smith, Payton Caughman, and Paisley Caughman, Levi Cowett, and Maddison Overby. Her uncle Ray Randle of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, and a host of nephews, nieces, and numerous cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Mary Randle, her loving husband, G.F. Cowett, and their daughter, Sherry Lavaughn Cowett.

Visitation will be in the Sequoyah Memorial Chapel of Forever Memories Funeral Services on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. The family will greet visitors from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Funeral services will be held in the Sequoyah Memorial Chapel of Forever Memories Funeral Services on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at 2:00 PM. The Honorary Speaker is Herman Jones, the Reading of the Obituary will be Morris Jones, and Mike Newberry will deliver the Message. Interment will follow at Brushy Cemetery.

Casket Bearers are  Matthew Caughman, Luke Caughman, Ethan Cowett, Holden Cowett, Brody Martin, and Bruce Alan Randle. Honorary Casket Bearers are Ray Randle, Bruce Randle, John Cowett, Glen Caughman, and Cecil Ed Tune.

The family of Mrs. Cowett has entrusted the funeral arrangements to Forever Memories Funeral Services, INC, Sallisaw, Oklahoma.

  5. I am sorry to hear of Mary’s passing. She was a good woman and a hard worker. She is now enjoying her Heavenly reward visiting with those gone before.
    Remember Mary with smiles and laughter as you recall the memories of the good times you spent together. I am praying for comfort for you in this time of loss.
