Biography

Justin “Gibby” Elias Bridges, 33, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, passed away on March 10, 2024, in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Justin was born in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, to Lanny Elias Bridges and Stacy Lee Gibson on February 23, 1991. He graduated from Central High School in 2009. He obtained his associate degree in 2023. Justin was very intelligent; he maintained a 4.0 and was at the top of his class at Carl Albert State College; a recent professor stated He was the best student she had ever had; he was the student who helped everyone else. Justin was a proud father; if you knew Justin, this would be the first thing you would say about him. Wherever he was, so were his children. They will forever be his pride and joy. Justin was also known for his kindness; it did not matter where you were in your life; he spoke to you with care and genuine concern, and he wanted the best for all his family and friends. If you needed reassurance or confidence about something, he offered words of support and encouragement. Justin would never say a bad word of anyone; he always chose to see the good in every person.

Luke 6:31  Treat others just as you want to be treated.

Luke 6:32 If you love only someone who loves you, will God praise you for that? Even sinners love people who love them.

Luke 6:33 If you are kind only to someone who is kind to you, will God be pleased with you for that? Even sinners are kind to people who are kind to them.

If there were ever a person who lived up to these verses, it would be Justin. Justin will be deeply and greatly missed.

Justin is survived by his children, Elias Bridges and Jenna Bridges; his siblings, Joseph Gibson, Jacob Gibson, Josey Busch – Gibson, Kailin Clark, and Andrew Gibson; his parents, Lanny Bridges, Stacy Gibson and Paul and Ashley Gibson; his grandparents, Shirley Bridges, Myrna Steggall, and Carolyn Gibson; his aunts Kennitha Ann, Noelle Steggall, Lisa Carson and Joe Donna Gibson; his uncles, Kenny Bridges, Jimmy Steggall and Matt Gibson; his cousin; James Steggall; his niece Gracie Gibson; his nephews, Joseph Gibson III, Ridge Gibson, Grayson Gibson, and Landon Gibson.

His grandfathers, John Elias Bridges and Joseph Gibson, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forever Memories Funeral Services. (463505 SH 101 Sallisaw, OK 74955)

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the Sequoyah Memorial Chapel of Forever Memories Funeral Services.

Burial will follow at Akins Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma.

The pallbearers are Joseph Gibson, Trayven Busch, Joe Paul Ellis, Matt Gibson, James Steggall, and Dillon Caughman.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to Next Step at United Faith Church. Next Step is “Transitional Housing: Serving the Sequoyah County Community.” “We believe there is always a next step!” Donations can be mailed to P.O.   2. He was my client and my friend. A loving father who was crazy about his kids. He always had a big smile and a warm handshake when we saw each other. RIP young man.

  5. Justin was a light like no other. I am blessed to have been able to get to know him through the CASC campus. His hard work, determination and positive energy was an asset to our educational community. Aside from being a great student, his love and devotion to Jenna and Elias was immeasurable. Praying for your peace and comfort during this time of sorrow.

  6. He was ALWAYS kind, no matter who you were and no matter what he was going through at the time….he was genuine. I enjoyed talking to him anytime I saw him, his life revolved around his babies and he was so proud. He will be missed. My prayers are with his family.
