Mr. Phillips spent much of his life in technology and was awarded three US patents. He and his wife Pat owned and operated The Airsport Corp in Sallisaw for eighteen years, where they designed aircraft instruments sold around the earth. Through his career Darryl worked on a wide variety of strange projects from wireless intrusion alarms to eye shadow machines to protecting ship hulls from corrosion to stirling engines to self-weighing semi trucks. He considered himself a generalist, as opposed to a specialist, and often adapted ideas from one field into a different field altogether. He was licensed by the FCC and FAA and was self-taught. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a nearby animal shelter. A private memorial service is planned for a later date.

Cremation is under the care of Forever Memories Funeral Services.
