Biography

Faye Sells, “Lana Banana” 57, of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, passed away on July 13, 2023, surrounded by her family, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Lana was born in Stilwell, Oklahoma, to Gerald and Lavone Poindexter (Dillard) on January 20, 1966. She graduated from Sallisaw High School. Those who knew Lana knew a truly wild and free spirit with the biggest giving heart that LOVED Jesus. She loved her family fiercely, including her dogs, Bella, Stubby, and Domino. They will greatly miss their nightly routine of an ice cream snack before bedtime. She loved to laugh and loved making others around her laugh. Her family will remember her for the laughter they shared, with numerous inside jokes, including her trips to the casino or AKA the “office,” or the jokes she was often telling others because it reminded her of them.

Lana is survived by her spouse, Brent Alan Rogers; her children, Christopher Lee Sells, Shelbi Jade Sells, and Bronson James Taylor; her siblings, Terry Poindexter, Jimmy Poindexter, Tracy Poindexter, and one grandchild, Eva Mae Taylor.

Lana is preceded in death by her parents and one brother Rick Poindexter.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 20, 2023, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 21, 2023, in the Sequoyah Memorial Chapel at Forever Memories Funeral Services in Sallisaw, Oklahoma with James Woodruff officiating.

Pallbearers are Chris Sells, Bronson Taylor, Johnny Taylor, Tracy Poindexter, Brent Rogers, and James Woodruff.

Arrangements are under the direction of Forever Memories Funeral Services, INC.

  1. I am so sorry for the loss of Lana. She was a great and wild spirited woman. she will be missed.. I’ll never forget the time that I spent in school with her in the graduating class of 1984. May God give You comfort.

So many wonderful and adventurous times I can remember walking through the store to leave the house and grabbing a soda and telling lana she can’t bring her Pepsi in the car with us because I don’t think I ever seen her drink one because she always somehow spilled it before getting more than two drinks. Loved her and her family dearly her mom and dad were wonderful to always welcome in there home and they were always so kind will miss you lana Faye

  3. Lana is my best friend and I can’t believe she is gone and never again will I see her smiling beautiful face and never hear her voice again! I have so many memories with lana the past 7 yrs. The one memory she would want me to share with everyone would be that she loved Jesus and she truly accepted Jesus as he personal savior and she was not ashamed to share that with anyone. I know lana will be in heaven when I get there someday and I will get to see her beautiful face again but until then lana I will miss you so much! I love you Lana and I wish I could tell you over and over again just how good of a friend you was to me and just how much I will always cherish the tines we had together! Fly high beautiful angel! I miss you so much! 😢

  5. Oh my goodness, there are so many memories to share that I have of Lana! I met Lana in 1987. We were friends from the get go! She was so extremely funny! We laughed so much at jokes and other people ( in a good way)! Lana was one of a kind and will be remembered by her contagious smile! Fly high my friend!!

I still don’t believe she is gone, but I know she will be waiting for us all with her Loving heart, beautiful smile, and her Brilliant Personality! I Love and Miss U so much Lanner, may God rest your beautiful soul and ease the the pain of your loved ones, until we meet again; In Jesus name I pray….AMEN
