Biography

Brenda Kay Farris-Dunkin, 72, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, passed from this life on March 24, 2023.

Brenda is survived by her current husband, Donald Dunkin of Blanchard, OK; children, Tina Vaughn (Tim) of Kirby, AR, Priscilla Barth (Steve) of Fairbanks, AK; LaBreeska Terrell (Ronald) of Vian, OK; Aaron Farris (Debi) of Bossier City, LA, Anthony Farris (Evelyn) of Sallisaw, OK; a brother, Wayne Brown (Linda) of Wickliffe, KY; 7 grandchildren, Blake Crainshaw, Amanda Green, Dakota Green, Emily Farris, Keaton Farris, Jenna Farris, and Alsten Farris;  6 great-grandchildren, Frankie Dae Crainshaw, Wylden Crainshaw, Sayler Rice, Nolan Green, Jaycie Cox, and Bryce Cox; step-children, Darin Dunkin (Pam), Sheila Wallbrown (Travis), and Beth Bohn (Eddy); and well as many more family and friends. 

She is preceded in death by a daughter, Miriam Farris; her parents, Thomas and Jean Brown; her second husband, L. D. Semore (d. 2013); and her first loving husband of 43 years, and father of their 6 children, Wilbur Alvie Farris (d. 2010).

Pallbearers are 3 nephews, Tim Farris, Thomas Farris, and Rodney Farris, and 3 grandsons, Blake Crainshaw, Dakota Green, and Keaton Farris.

Honorary pallbearers are Tim Vaughn, Ronald Terrell, and Steve Barth.

Officiating the memorial service are Larry Gibbs and Darin Wood.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 26, 2023, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

Services are under the direction of Forever Memories Funeral Services in Sallisaw, Oklahoma.

  2. Sis Brenda was such a sweet lady, I loved the times we was able to be in church services together. Her smile and laugh was contagious… her love for the Lord was great. I am thankful that I was blessed to know her.

  3. Love and prayers to the family! I will forever cherish the amount of time I had with Brenda and getting to know her. She was a wonderful and caring woman, who loved the Lord so deeply! She is going to be deeply missed.

  5. Me and Brenda were very close friends a long time ago. Her parents lived 2 doors down from mine. We played dress up and wore her mother hi heels! That was the good ole days! So very sorry for the family.
