Biography

Norma (Deanne) D. Morton 72, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, went to be with Jesus on Saturday, September 30, 2017 after a long illness. She was born February 14, 1945 in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to John and Tempa Craft. Deanne loved to be around people and have them in her home to eat and visit. She especially loved holidays, Christmas was her favorite. She cooked and decorated her house and spent time with family and anyone that happened to drop by. She worked as a secretary for AAA Automobile Association in Washington, D.C., also for an oil company in Oklahoma, she retired from Jay Public Schools after several years as a librarian of the middle school.She was survived by her husband of 52 years, George, of the home; one son, Brian and Amber from Tahlequah, Ok.; grandchildren, her pride and joy, Saige and Cole Morton from Oklahoma City, Ok., and Kortni Ford from Tahlequah, Ok. Two brothers, Dowell Craft from Fort Gibson, Ok., and Mitchell Craft from Davenport, Ok., and a host of loving family and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Tempa Craft, one brother, Dean Sterling, and sister, Myrna, all of Muskogee, Oklahoma.Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 11:00 am at Dwight Mission Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma with Reverend Nicholas Hess officiating. Casket bearers will be Brian Morton, Cole Morton, Joe Morton, Evan Morton, Grant Morton and Tony Matlock. Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017 from 5-8pm in the Sequoyah Memorial Chapel.
