Timmy “Tim” James Hill, a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, passed away on August 11, 2024, at home surrounded by his loved ones. The son of James E. and Barbara L. (Heeter) Hill, Tim was born on March 12, 1951 in Battle Creek, MI and graduated from Springfield High School in 1969. At the age of 19, Tim enlisted in the U.S. Army. He valued his service highly and attained the rank of Captain before being discharged due to injuries sustained during his time in Vietnam. As part of his service, Tim was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, the Vietnam Meritorious Service Medal, and Vietnam Cross of Gallantry. Upon discharge from the Army, Tim attended Michigan State University and graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He had a 43-year career working for the Federal Government, before retiring in 2018. Tim met the love of his life, Monica, while working together in Jacksonville, FL. They married a year later and spent the next 28 years devoted to each other. Tim’s top priority was ensuring she knew she was the most loved and adored person in his life. He embraced Monica’s children as his own and never used the term “step”. He was proud to call them and introduce them as his sons and daughter. Tim will be most remembered for his passion for Corvettes, his storytelling, his endless supply of dad jokes, hosting family game nights, his love of Star Trek, and as an avid gun collector. Above all, Tim will be remembered for his never-ending love and support for his family.

Rest in peace, Tim❤️🇺🇸
He was so happy to get to know you better, cuz! He enjoyed all our times at the dances, just hanging out, and especially beating you at shuffleboard, lol!!
I met Tim while working at the Federal building in Jacksonville, 1984.
We quickly became friends, common interests and craziness.
Although Tim and family moved around a bit with the government we stayed in touch.
His humor and storytelling will be missed.
Mark, you were truly his dearest friend, and the first person he ever introduced me to. Your friendship meant the world to him! Our families had a lot of great times together that we’ll carry on through photos and memories.
I will miss you my big brother from other parents!
Mark, I remember when he introduced you to me as his younger brother, and I thought you really were! He was so glad we were able to get back in touch with you a few years ago.
Eternal rest be unto you, Perpetual light shine upon you, May you rest in peace, Tim. You were a wonderful brother-in-law. Till we meet again, I will cherish the good times, the laughter, the stories. I’m so glad God made you a part of our family.
