Biography

Services for Mrs. Connie Lee Miller, 81, of Bixby, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2024, in the Sequoyah Memorial Chapel at Forever Memories Funeral Services in Sallisaw, Oklahoma.

Connie Lee Miller was born June 22, 1942, in Gentry, Arkansas, the second child of Jefferson White and Reola Eldridge. She had one sister, Barbara Jean Lee.

Connie attended elementary through high school graduation at Gentry Public Schools. She was in the Class of 1960 and had many friends. Connie was involved in many school clubs and was a cheerleader for the school athletic teams. She then moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, and attended Draughon’s Business School at her father’s request. There, she met her husband, Don Miller, and they were married by the end of the year. They started their family in Tulsa but eventually moved to Don’s hometown of Sallisaw to purchase Miller Farm Center. Connie began working for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services in Sallisaw and was transferred to Tulsa offices, where she retired.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Jefferson White Eldridge and Reola Eldridge, her sister Barbara Lee, brother-in-law Bob Lee, nephew Tony Lee, former husband Don Miller, and former husband, Charles Gillam.

Connie passed away in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on May 18, 2024, with her family by her bedside. She is survived by her children, Dr. Marsha Turner and Dr. Jim Turner of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, Dr. Gaylon Miller and Adeline of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Brittain Keifer of Bixby, Oklahoma. Her grandchildren are Chase Miller and Hailee of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; Jadon Turner and Shadoe Turner of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; Noah Keifer, Kaitlyn Keifer, and Reagan  Keifer of Bixby, Oklahoma; and step-grandchildren Headley Perkin and Anthony Perkin of  Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She is also survived by one niece, Teri Lee of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and her children, Amber Lee, Patrick Wagner, and Jordon Wagner.

A perfect day for Connie was spending time with her family around her, sharing their days with her, and putting her input into whatever trials they were dealing with. She filled her home with music and dancing, keeping fit and always keeping a pristine home that she enjoyed decorating. She kept up with fashion styles and enjoyed dressing up. She was always there to support her family in the good and not-so-good times. She was a mother who could be counted on to be there when needed and will be deeply missed.

Services for Mrs. Connie Lee Miller, 81, of Bixby, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2024, in the Sequoyah Memorial Chapel at Forever Memories Funeral Services in Sallisaw, Oklahoma with Heath Wood officiating.

Connie’s visitation will be Friday, May 24, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Sequoyah Memorial Chapel at Forever Memories Funeral Services.

Following the service, Connie will be laid to rest at Akins Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Gaylon Miller, Chase Miller, Jim Turner, Jadon Turner, Shadoe Turner, and Noah Keifer.

Honorary Pallbearers are her nieces and nephews.

The family has entrusted the arrangements to Forever Memories Funeral Services, INC, Sallisaw, Oklahoma.

    I’m so sorry for the loss of your mom. I always remember her being kind and welcoming. She was always “fashionable” and dressed to the T!! I’m so glad you had her love and support for as long as you have. Love and prayers for the whole family.❤️
