Carolyn Lorraine Jackson (Joyner), 69, of Sallisaw, passed away on April 02, 2023. Carolyn was born on February 07, 1954, in Fresno, California, to Keethy and Pauline Joyner (McIntosh.)
Carolyn loved caring for others. She was so drawn to help others that she spent 23 years as a Registered Nurse.
She married the love of her life, Jimmy Jackson, on July 17, 1971, and they lived a beautiful life together.
Carolyn is preceded in death by their beautiful son, James Keith Jackson; her parents; her brother, Keethy “Chuck” Joyner; her sisters, Sylvia Gagnon, Eva Santiago, and Jeri Taber.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jimmy; her daughter, Julie Ann Morris (Jackson); her grandchildren, Haley and Adam Wood, Makayla Morris, and Jackson Morris; her great-granddaughters, Savannah and Ellie Wood; her siblings, Ellen Provost, Dorothy Puntino, Katherine Preston, John Joyner, Kathy Stumbaugh, Connie Ansiel, and Janet Dann.
Carolyn will be greatly missed by many other special people who were in her life, other family members, her nursing family, and friends, as well as her Coast Guard family and friends.
She loved you all very dearly.
After retiring from Nursing, Carolyn found peace and comfort in slowing down just a little and soaking up the view from their back porch, watching the lake and the wildlife.
Naturally, she was a giver and carer, but nothing made her smile and gleam with joy, like going on adventures with her grandchildren.
When spending time with Carolyn, you were sure to enjoy life alongside her. Whether the day was spent doing her favorite things, such as being on the lake, dancing around without a care who was watching, or traveling, the joy of life was abundant.
Above all else, Carolyn loved her husband. She loved being his best friend and spending every moment with him.
She lived. She laughed. She loved.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 8, 2023 in the Sequoyah Chapel at Forever Memories Funeral Services.
Arrangements are under the direction of Forever Memories Funeral Services of Sallisaw, Oklahoma.

Dear Carolyn, I love you with all my heart.
I miss you being here with us. I know heaven has a new beautiful Angel.
It was perfect sharing sister time. Going on nature walks, chatting on the phone or sitting side by side. Showing up at events wearing the same outfit without having talked about which outfit we were wearing!☺️ We love so many of the same things & same people. This did create a great harmony between us. Something special only we would share. I believe you are checking out nature in Heaven.
Friends & Family miss you, your kindness, positive attitude, wealth of knowledge & much more. I will continue to think of you every day.
I will wait until we can meet at the river
On it’s beautiful shore. Until then love, peace, & harmony. Sister Kathryn Elaine Joyner Preston
