Biography

Jimmie Walker, 80, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, passed away on February 11, 2023, in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Jimmie was born to Jess and Ruby Walker on June 19, 1942, in Checotah, Oklahoma. He served in the Navy for 22 years.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

Jimmie is preceded in death by his spouse, brothers, and parents.

Jimmie is survived by his children Rose Hughes, Roberta Widener, and Joleane Walker, and siblings Doris Bullard, Barbara Coker, Marion Walker, Andrew Walker, and Davis Walker; grandchildren Brice and Lacey Hughes and Jesse Andrews; great-grandchildren Levi Hughes, Liam Hughes, Damien Hughes, and Vaughn Hughes.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on February 18, 2023, at Oktaha Trinity Baptist Church located at 107 E Prairie Street, Oktaha, Oklahoma, United States, Oklahoma.

Inurnment will follow at 10:00 AM on February 20, 2023, at the National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, located at 1423 Cemetery Rd, Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, 74434.

Services are under the direction of Forever Memories Funeral Services of Sallisaw, Oklahoma.
