Biography

Martin Vann, 69, born August 2, 1950 in Bunch, OK to Bill and Katie Marie Vann. He married Linda Kelley in July, 1974. They had 5 children together. He remarried Crystal Thomison in April of 1998 and had one son. Martin worked for the Whirlpool Corporation and later retired from Cherokee Casino after 25 years of service. He loved watching his grandchildren play sports and OU Football.He is survived by his children, Thomas Vann and MaRanda Anderson of Vian, Kelly Vann of Vian, Natasha and husband Jon Pegg of Glencoe, Deanna Vann and Tara Vest of Muldrow, Justin Vann of the home, and Hunter Vann also of the home. Sixteen grandchildren, Bodhi and Laken Vann, Tyler and Dylan Vann, Brendon Ferguson, Jayden, Dusty, Ethan, Conner, Levi Mayes, London Parker, Jonathan, Audrey and David Pegg, Cailey and Caden Grinstead; Seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Susie Cherry, Lucy Catcher, Amy Vann, Johnny Vann, Jody Vann, Banan Vann, Jimmy Vann;One uncle, Soldier Vann; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.Martin was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Katie Vann, one brother Watie Vann and ex-wife Linda Greene.Visitation for Mr Vann, with CDC Guidelines concerning social distancing observed, will be held on Thursday, May 28th, from 4-7pm in the Sequoyah Memorial Chapel, Forever Memories Funeral Service, 463505 Hwy 101, Sallisaw. Funeral services, following CDC Guidelines, will be held on Friday, May 29th, at 2:00 pm in the Sequoyah Memorial Chapel with interment to follow in the Belfonte Cemetery.Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Forever Memories Funeral Service, Sallisaw, OK

  12. Sending prayers to the family of Martin Vann. I was so sad to hear the news, as we have worked and became friends over 20 years. Martin was one of those people who left an impression on you. He always had a great work ethic and always was ready to tease you and make you laugh about something. I will always miss his welcoming nature and hugs.
