Biography

Lilia Elaine Garrett, 68 of Gore OK joined Our Lord and savior on the evening of March 20th, 2021. Lilia was born on April 9th,1952 in Muskogee, OK. Lilia was preceded in death by her mother Mary Louise Cason and her father JC Cason, her sister Susan Huff, her mother and father-in-law Bud and Melvina Garrett, her son Jamie Garrett, her beloved daughter Shauna Miller-Quinn, and countless other friends and extended family. There would never be enough room on a piece of paper for the amount of words it would take to describe Lilia. If there ever was a single word to describe Lilia it would be…strong. Never one to take no for an answer, a trait she passed on to her children, she wouldn’t let anything stop her from getting what she wanted. Especially if it was for her family. She loved her game shows and cooking shows. She always copied down recipes from books, shows, or magazines. You would find them stashed everywhere along with pictures of her family. She couldn’t have enough pictures of her family. On the same note, you won’t find hardly any pictures of her. The only thing that would rival the love for her family, was her love for Elvis. However, she loved Dale, the love of her life more than anything in the world. From the time they met, when she was 24, they became soul mates and married February 12, 1977 and would go on to create a wonderful and beautiful life for the next forty-four years. Creating an incredible family and loving home for their children. Lilia Elaine Garrett was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She leaves behind her husband Dale Garrett of the home, sons Jay Miller of Gore, Jeffrey Garrett of Muskogee, Jeremy Garrett and wife Beri of Muskogee, daughter Michelle Butler and her husband Randall of Hattieville, Arkansas. Daughter-in-law Tina Garrett of Perryville, AR. Sister Carmen London and her husband Jim of Hope Mills, NC and brother Art Cason and his wife Connie of Salina, OK. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren. As well as countless other nieces, nephews, cousins, other friends and family. Visitation for Lilia’s family and friends will be held on Friday, Mar. 26, 2021 in the Sequoyah Memorial Chapel of Forever Memories Funeral Services, 463505 Hwy 101, Sallisaw, from 6-8:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, Mar. 27, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the Sequoyah Memorial Chapel with Rev. James White officiating. Interment will follow in the Garrett Family Cemetery, Gore. Casket bearers will be Jeffrey Garrett, Jeremy Garrett, Aubrey Garrett, Bradley Miller, Jay Campbell, Randall Butler, Ryan Gray, and Jacob Potter.Arrangements are under the direction of Forever Memories Funeral Services, Sallisaw, OK. www.fmfsinc.com

  1. She was my mother and the greatest woman I ever knew. I can never say enough how great of a woman she was and how strong she was. I love this family.

I didn’t know Lilia I knew her husband and her son Jeffery and his daughter meadow.Meadow would tell us stories of her grandma and grandpa and she would be grinning from ear to ear and very proud of her grandmother meadow loved her grandmother and was always worried about her. Garrett family I know from Meadow the love she has for grandma the world has lost a very loving woman and heaven got a beautiful angel you and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.
