Biography

On Thursday, February 19th Johnny L. Adair of Tahlequah departed this life to be reunited in Heaven with his loving parents and siblings who passed on before him.Born on April 7th, 1944 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to John B. and Katie (Vann) Adair. He leaves behind his loving wife of 40 years, Alvada (Duffield) Adair, step-children: Janie Dibble and her husband Jim, and Robert Hensley; siblings, Donald Adair and Michelle Adair along with a host of loving family members and friends.Throughout his life, Johnny shared his love for God. He enjoyed Cherokee gospel music singings and would sing a song or two. Growing up in Greasy community he was known for being a great baseball player and breaking horses with his uncles at a very young age. He was a devoted lover of animals, particularly concerned over the welfare of cats and dogs. He also enjoyed camping and hunting. Johnny retired from the City of Stilwell in the electric department. The last years of this life were dedicated to the care of his beloved wife.Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, John B. and Katie (Vann) Adair, sisters, Mary L. Duvall and Louella Frazier, infant brother Jimmy Adair, nephews, Zachary and Kerry Adair.A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 23rd, 2-5pm in the Sequoyah Memorial Chapel, Forever Memories Funeral Service, 463505 Hwy 101, Sallisaw. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 24th at 1 pm in the Sequoyah Memorial Chapel with Pastor Joey Duvall officiating. Johnny will be laid to rest next to his father John B. Adair at Rocky Point Cemetery in Sequoyah County. Pallbearers are Ryan Adair, Chad Adair, Darian Adair, Seth Anderson, Donald (Jr.) Duvall, Ricky Duvall, and Gary Vann.Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Forever Memories Funeral Service, Sallisaw, OK.
