Biography

James Arlen Pratt, 78, of (Flatrock) Muldrow, passed away on August 14, Saturday, in a Ft Smith hospital. James was born on June 29, 1943 in Muldrow to Vernon and Wanda (Plank) Pratt. He was a retired plumber and rancher, enjoyed talking to people and making people smile. Spending time with his grandchildren was always at the top of his list. He was a member of Eastside Holiness Church.

Survivors include his wife Thelma of the home; sons, Eddie Pratt of Muldrow, Jerry Dean and his wife Shawna Pratt of Muldrow, David and his wife Mikki Pratt of Gans, Johnny Wayne Taylor of Sallisaw, James Woodruff Jr and his wife Jamie of Gans, Winston Pratt of Tulsa, and Jeremy Gillis of Vian; Two brothers, Vernon Pratt Jr and his wife Diane of Sallisaw, Kendall Asher and his wife Glenna of Muldrow; along with a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Barbara and Teresa; brothers, Charles, Loyd, Jessie, and Joe.

Graveside services for James will be held on Friday, Aug 20, 2021, at 2:00 pm in the Blackjack Cemetery, Muldrow. Casket bearers will be Matthew Pratt, Justin Pratt, Issaac Pratt, Randy Plank, Jim Bob Cantwell, and Christopher Lasiter. Honorary bearers will be Johnny Woodard, Boyd Cantwell, Ben Houston, Jonathon Firestine, Scotty Nofire, and Michael Duncan.

  2. This news has tore my heart into when my daughter just posted this passing of James to me on facebook few minutes ago. We shared our grandkids madison and jamie and they love him so much. He was one of the outundstanding men i know with great smile and laugh all the time. God got a great Angel by his throan. Deeply missed God bless his family and our grandkids forever in my heart ??

    Alot of folks have very few memories that he wasn’t a part of!!! That big ol grin will SHINE ON FOREVER IN MANY HEARTS! The impact he made on people’s lives is immeasurable! Him being a huge part of mine is priceless; I’m more than grateful I was so blessed! I love you Big Daddy, and never will I drink a beer that you won’t cross my mind! I guess this here is really the last show!! RIP

  8. To the Pratt family, I was saddened to receive word that James had passed away. I’m happy to know that James had a change in his life when he got saved. I know you are all grieving, however, know one thing for sure there will be a reunion someday. May God bless and comfort each of you as only he can do.

  11. James did alot of Singing with me I did Karaoke there for a long time He had the voice of an Angel I also ran the little bar by the race track and worked at Ziggys He knew he could trust me as a valuable employee RIP My Friend
