  1. Mr. Whitaker was one of my teachers during 7th and 8th Grade. He was a firm but fair man, we met again later in life and I was glad to be able to call him a friend. Prayers for the family.

  2. We are so sorry for your loss. Praying God will give you comfort, strength and peace, as only He can.

  3. My condolences on your loss, Mr. Whittaker was a great teacher to have and an all around great person I had the privilege to know.

  4. Harold was a wonderful person with a big smile and an even bigger heart. My heart go’s out to his family that he loved so much.

  5. Mr. Whitaker was always a pleasant person to see whether at school or anywhere in town. We would always chit-chat about how school was going and then after he retired he would always wonder how much longer I was going to teach. He cared about his students and his students cared about him. He was fair to ALL! Thoughts and prayers are with each of you.

  6. Mr. Whitaker was a wonderful man. Unfortunately, he was never a teacher of mine, however my brother was in his class. Even at a young age I could see how far he wanted his students to go, he was a dedicated and caring teacher. Later in life when I would see him out, we’d always talk. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

  7. I loved Mr. Whitaker when my mother was a teacher at Eastside with him. I had the opportunity as a nurse to care for him in recent years and he was just as sweet then. He will be missed.
