Mark Steven Bettencourt, 69, of Hilmar, California, peacefully and unexpectedly entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 07, 2025, at a local hospital. Mark was born in Modesto, California, to Manuel and Victoria Bettencourt on May 04, 1955, seven minutes after he was joined by his twin brother, Marlin. He was a lifelong resident of Hilmar, where he was known by many for his hard work as a supervisor of Joseph Farms Cheese Factory, his kind heart, and his willingness to help anyone who came to him in need.
Mark had a passion for music, football, and spending time with his sons, Brian and Scott. He never missed any of their basketball and football games during their school years. He was always there for them whenever they needed him to be. For those who had the privilege of knowing him, Mark leaves behind a legacy of hard work and unwavering loyalty to family and friends. He will always be remembered for his charming smile, unique sense of humor, and calm spirit.
Mark is survived by his son, Brian Bettencourt; two grandchildren, Brooke and Brian Porter of Pebble Beach, California; two brothers, Marlin and wife, Bobbett Bettencourt, and Norman and wife, Gloria Bettencourt; sister, Yvonne Dyrland, all of Hilmar, California, along with several nieces, nephews and friends.
Loved ones who have preceded him in death are his son, Scott Bettencourt; his parents, Manuel and Victoria Bettencourt; and his sister, Linda Parmeley, all of Hilmar, California.
Cremation Services will be under the direction of Forever Memories Funeral Services, Inc. of Sallisaw, Oklahoma. The family has chosen to have a burial service at a later date in Hilmar, California.
Mark, thank you for all the memories that you left for us to remember you by until we get to see you again someday. We will love you forever, and we already miss you terribly.
