Georgia Mae "Georgie" Ford, 88, of Sallisaw, passed away on March 20th, 2025 peacefully in her home. It is with immense sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother. She has gotten her wings and is now reunited with her loving husband, beloved daughter, and our Heavenly Father.
Georgia was born on October 14, 1936 to Lester W. and Georgia Anna Montgomery in St. Louis, Missouri where she was raised until her marriage, and she settled in Arkansas where she later in life found her employment and fulfillment with the Forest Department. She moved to Oklahoma in 2021 where she remained until her passing.
Georgia enjoyed crocheting, painting, puzzles and all types of crafting projects. She was constantly balancing multiple projects at the same time. She was never one to be idle.
Georgia was preceded in death by her husband Richard Dale "Dickie" Ford, Daughter Patsy Ann Calloway, her parents, Lester W. (Sr.) and Georgia Anna (Limpert) Montgomery, siblings L.W. "Noonie" Montgomery Jr., Victoria "Vickie" Pinson, Donna Hunter, Marlene Struckmeyer, Sharon Yon and Ernest "Ernie" Montgomery.
Georgia is survived by and will be extremely missed by her children Stephen Allen "Stevie" (Bonita) Ford of Atkins, Arkansas, Joeann Lorainne (Ron) Stewart of Princeton, Missouri, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters Harriett (Benny) Canoy of West Columbia, Texas. Deborah "Debbie" (Don) Swan of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and by those who were fortunate enough to be considered her friend.
There will be a memorial service scheduled at a later date.
The family has entrusted the arrangements to Forever Memories Funeral Services INC.
