Sammy Dale Foster was born November 7, 1935, in Cloud Chief, OK to Logan and Willie Mae (Hunt) Foster and went to be with his Lord and Savior at his home in Sallisaw, OK on Friday, June 17, 2022, at the age of 86.
Dale graduated from Hammon High School in 1953 and was married to Elnora R. Hughes and from this union, four children were born, Shirley May (Foster) Murrow, Marsha Sue (Foster) Smith, Steven Dale Foster and Myra Dawn Foster. Dale was married to Linda Stephens on May 3, 2004, and made their home in Sallisaw, OK. Dale came to know the Lord as a teenager at Moorewood Missionary Baptist Church. Throughout his life, Dale always loved horses and anything to do with them. After suffering a broken ankle calf roping, he started training race horses. He raised and trained thoroughbreds as well as trained horses for other owners throughout his career. He had many wins during his days as an owner and trainer.
Dale was preceded in death by his son, Steven, a daughter, Myra, a grandson Tyler Patton and a great-grandson, Julian Foster Patton, 4 sisters: Bernice Trout, Merle Orgain, Pauline Barnes and Emma Jean Armstrong, his parents and his father-in-law Collis Kelley.
Survivors include his wife: Linda Foster of the home, daughters Shirley Murrow and husband Charles of Alva, Marsha Smith and husband Ronnie of Elk City, Marie Storment and husband Jeff of Webbers Falls, and Dana Smart of Star City, AR; five granddaughters, six grandsons & thirteen great-grandchildren,
mother-in-law Norma Kelley of Pine Bluff, AR and a host of nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at Red Hill Cemetery, Hammon, OK 73650. Final details are pending.

I am so sorry to hear this. My husband my Freddie Thomas, and Dale we’re good friends. We had some good times with Dale. Prayers for the family.
