Biography

Ruby Lee (Steward) Taylor was born on September 22, 1925 in Paris, Arkansas to James and Ethel Steward, and passed from this life on Oct 11, 2020 in Vian. She was united in marriage to Lige Taylor Sr. in 1943. Ruby was a dedicated wife, and a mother of 10. She devoted her life to loving and caring for her children. Ruby’s warm heart and passion for helping others were shown through her many talents. She was gifted in making beautiful quilts and house shoes for her family and was a light and blessing to those around her.Ruby is survived by two daughters, Wanda Taylor of Vian, Marilyn and Stephen Taylor of Fort Smith, 2 sons, L.G. and Donna Taylor of Fort Smith, Donald and LaTysha Taylor of Houston, TX; brother, Troy Carson of Kansas City; sister, Bonnie Carson of Kansas City; 24 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 siblings, Effie Upton, Curtis Steward and Matthew Steward; 6 children, Muzola Taylor, Effie Benton, Shirley Hinkle, Sandra Taylor, Matthew Taylor, and Lige Taylor Jr; and a granddaughter, Letitia Roxann Blocker.Visitation for Ms. Ruby Taylor will be on Friday, Oct 16, 2020, from noon until 7:00pm in the Sequoyah Memorial Chapel, Forever Memories Funeral Services, 463505 Hwy 101, Sallisaw. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2020 at 11:00 am in the Beal Cemetery, Alma, AR. Pastors Jamie Jones, Mack Jackson, and Fred Wright will officiate. Casket bearers will be Stanely Releford, Brad Releford, Galen Taylor, Ryan Taylor, Kevon Ingram, and Donta- Taylor. Honorary casket bearers will be Desmond Henry, L.G. Mrs. Taylor was one of my favorites… Everytime, I visited her, she was always the same… She always had a smile on her face and welcomed me with open arms and never seemed stressed over anything… God definitely has taken home a beautiful, precious Angel… I love you, Mrs. Taylor….
