Biography

Patsy A Brooks, 76, of Vian passed away on Monday Feb. 24, 2020. Patsy was born on Jan 26, 1944 in Topeka, KS to W.O. (Toby) and Luella (Childers) Gillis. She is survived by 5 children; Deloyd Gentry and his wife Jeri of Canton, IL, Ronda Gentry of Vian, Donna Skaggs and her husband Terry of Vian, Jeff Gentry of Sallisaw, and Leigh Ann Smith and her husband Danny of Vian; 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; one sister, Debbie Gillis of Vian; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe Brooks, brother, Kenneth Gillis, and one grandson, Kalin Jake Skaggs.Visitation for Patsy will be Thursday evening, Feb 27, 2020 from 4-7pm in the Sequoyah Memorial Chapel of Forever Memories Funeral Service, Sallisaw. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb 28, 2020 at 1:00pm in the Sequoyah Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jeff Green officiating. Interment will follow in the Box Cemetery, Vian, OK. Casket bearers will be Dale, Kleman, Mike Davis, Steve Garvin, Brett Buttery, John Brooks, and Danny Cook. Honorary casket bearers will be Jim Smith, James Pratt, Duane Morgan.Arrangements are under the direction of Forever Memories Funeral Service, Sallisaw.

  2. Jan and I and my mom, Patsy’s Aunt Sue are praying for all of my cousin Patsy’s family right now. I know she is in the arms of her beloved Joe right now in her perfect body with no pain or sickness. What a joy to know that to be absent the body is to be in the presence of the lord. God bless and comfort you all because I know you will miss her mightily.

  4. I am heartbroken! She was simply an Angel! My heartfelt condolences to all the kids and grandkids. I had the pleasure of knowing her for 40+ years and shared lots of laughs and tears along the way. RIP beautiful soul and know you will be missed dearly by so many you have touched with your loving personality. Fly high!!!
