Biography

Michael Wayne Boyd of Gans, OK passed away on August 31, 2021 at the age of 33.
Michael was born on March 5, 1988 in Fort Smith, AR to Mike Boyd and Tammy West. He worked as a phlebotomist in San Antonio, TX for many years. He had a passion for helping others and traveling all parts of the United States and beyond. You never knew where he’d turn up next or where his next adventure would be. He had a love for animals, especially his cats. If there was a stray running around you could rest assured knowing that it found a home with Michael. He had an ear for music and was learning how to play piano. He was also an avid reader and could speak many different languages. He had a passage highlighted in the last book that he was reading that read “I love you, and I want to have the best life with you that I can have. No matter how much time I have left, I want to live a life that I have no regrets about.”
Survivors include his father, Mike Boyd of Spiro, OK; mother, Tammy West and Husband Jason of Gans, OK; sister, Tera Monceret of Gans, OK; step siblings, Jaci and Christopher West of Gans, OK; nephew, Braxton Monceret; nieces, Payslee Monceret and Emily Taff; grandmother, Sarah Randell and husband Mitch of Gans, OK; step grandmother, Judy West of Gans, OK; aunts and uncles, Brenda Najar and husband Andy of Spiro, OK, Debbie Benge and husband Kent of Spiro, OK, Terry Smith of Pocola, OK, Lloyd Young and wife Linda of Shawnee, OK, Keith Young and wife Kim of Fort Smith, AR, Vickie Young of Sallisaw, OK, Roger Young of Sallisaw, OK, Streeter West and wife Cynthia of Gans, OK, along with numerous cousins, other relatives, and loved ones.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Contz’d and Anna Faye; maternal grandfather, Bob Young; and step grandfather, Frank West.
Memorial services are Sat., Sept 4, 2:00 pm in the Calvary Temple Church, Sallisaw. Arrangements are under the direction of Forever Memories Funeral Services, Sallisaw.

  1. Hi, I worked with Michael in San Antonio. He was a fantastic human! He was studying to be an anthropologist. He loved humanity and all the diverse cultures we have. He was working on writing a novel. I was fortunate to read a bit of it. He was into politics. We had a lot of fun chatting about life. I will miss greatly.
