Biography

On Sunday November 4, 2018 Mary Duvall completed her journey here on earth surrounded by her friends and family. Mary’s journey started on March 14, 1950 when she was born to John Adair and Katie Vann Adair in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.In her 68 years on Earth, she blessed the lives of those who knew her with love, kindness and laughter. While Mary’s family and friends are heartbroken, she has left them with stories, memories and life lessons that will live on for generations. Mary’s relationship with Jesus Christ was a central part of her life. She lived out her faith by being a mentor, mother figure and by providing Thanksgiving meals for people who had no family to spend the holidays with. She attended New Beginnings Church in Sallisaw. For 46 years Mary worked as a hair dresser where she enjoyed bringing out the beauty of other people and making lifelong friends along the way. Stories of the pranks and practical jokes Mary played on her coworkers and clients at the salon continue to bring smiles and laughter. She also helped shape the lives of others by serving as Sequoyah District Representative for the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians in Oklahoma. Mourning Mary’s passing her mother, Katie Adair, her husband of 50 years Bob Duvall of Sallisaw to whom she was married on July 13, 1968 with renewal of their vows taking place in July of 2018, daughter and son in law Heather Duvall Anderson and Jayme Anderson of Sallisaw, son and daughter in law Joey and Dalene Duvall of Sallisaw, grandchildren Sayde Anderson, Seth Anderson, Jamey Duvall and Jessika Duvall, brothers and sisters in law Johnny and Alivada Adair and Donald and Joanne Adair, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends . Mary was preceded in death by her father, John Adair, her sister Lou and infant brother Jimmy. Family and friends will be received for visitation on Wednesday, November 7th from 6-8 p.m. at Forever Memories Funeral Services 463505 Hwy 101, Sallisaw. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 8th at 10:00 a.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church, 1101 N Wheeler, Sallisaw. Committal service will follow in the Fort Smith National Cemetery, Ft Smith, AR at 12:00 noon. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Forever Memories Funeral Service, Sallisaw, OK. 918-775-2222.

  1. What a beautiful reflection of Mary’s life and of her love. She truly loved her Lord and Savior and this was reflected in all she did. Mary was a beautiful soul on this earth and now is a beautiful soul in heaven. Words cannot express my and Eric’s sympathy for the loss of your precious Mary.   5. Mary was one of a kind , she always made me n my family feel so welcomed at church , loved listening to her sing , she had a beautiful voice , great personality, she will most certainly be missed by all who knew her , my thoughts n prayers to the family , may God send comfort n strength…

  11. Mary always uplifted you with that smile. She loved the Lord with all her heart. God has an angel with him whom we have lost but her advise, wisdom, and laughter will always be with us.
