Biography

Manuel David Thomas, born on August 18, 1949, passed away on January 7, 2022, at the age of 72 at Baptist Health hospital in Fort Smith, Ar. He is preceded in death by his parents, Norman Ray and Nannie Lea Tatumn-Thomas; nine siblings- Ruth, Jimmie, Sharon, Kathy, Wayne, Norma, Hazel, Marie, Janie, and one grandkid, Bailey Marrissa Thomas.
Survivors include one brother-Dale Thomas, two sons- Michael and Jeffrey Thomas, three grandkids- Charles, Darrell, and Austin Thomas.

Manuel was a dear friend to many and loved everyone. His soft heart always warmed up to children, family, and friends. He achieved many milestones in his life, starting with the completion of a high school diploma at Ketchum High School. He continued to better his education after enlisting in The United States, Army where he reached the rank of Sargent First Class (E7), achieved the completion of many educational certificates and served his country proudly as a leader in the mechanic-vehicle division for over twenty years. He then retired from the Army and settled down in Powderly, Texas. Manuel was a man of many talents, skillsets, and hobbies. He loved staying active with his hands and did so by working on cars, lawn equipment, and fixing up furniture pieces that he would find at thrift stores. He also loved spending his time fishing, collecting coins, playing cards, and marbles, cooking, canning, and later in his life, spending time walking with his brother, Dale. The celebration service has been postponed by the family due to Covid-19. New service information will be announced at a later date.
