Biography

Lynda Sue James, 73, passed away peacefully, with family by her side, on February 5, 2022.

She was born on June 23, 1948 in Elkhart, KS, to Eula and Shuford Barker.

Lynda grew up in Sallisaw, OK. She was married to Dwight James for 58 years. She was loved by all of her children, grand children, and great-grandchildren. Lynda loved singing, gardening, and cooking. She worked as a caregiver for many years.

Survivors include her husband, Dwight James; children, Johnny James, Mitchell James, Terry James, and Leslie Herrin; sister, Shirley Ann Gardenhire; grandchildren, Jessica James, Frankie Clifton, Tyler Herrin, Damon Herrin, Taylor Herrin, Aren Mettler, Bryce Herrin, Megan James, Trevor James, Sophia James, Tara Brianne Dean, Brittany Sue Dunn, Ashley James and Christopher Spears; great-grandchildren, Dax and Anna Clifton, Aiden and Jackson Herrin, Everett Mettler, McKayla and Aaron James, Karsyn Smith, Clayton, Ashlynn, Jayson, Harlie, Anakin, Teagan, Logan, Alyssa, Kaylee, Nova, Cameron, Aria, Lilly Mae, and Mason.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Eula and Shuford Barker; children, Garland, Jody, and Richard James; siblings, Ada, Francis, Henry, and Benny.

Visitation for Lynda will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, from 12-8PM in the Sequoyah Memorial Chapel of Forever Memories Funeral Services in Sallisaw, OK.

Graveside services will take place at Rocky Point Cemetery at 2 PM on Thursday, February 10, 2022.

Arrangements are under the direction of Forever Memories Funeral Services
