Oh, Joel! What a welcomed guest you were at any of our Branson dinners! I used to love hearing stories of your unique experiences which you told with such sweet humility. Then you would listen intently, with a small attentive smile on your face, to us tell ours, as if, remarkably, you found them as entertaining as your own. What I appreciated and admired you most for, however, was how happy and completed you seemed to make my friend, Thesa, from the very moment you met her throughout your years together. It was obvious how much you adored her. I have always been astoundingly impressed by how patiently, diligently, and selflessly you supported her wherever her dreams and ambitions took her. Your enjoyment of and devotion to each other was easily apparent. My sincerest condolences go out to your dear mother, your children, your wife, and all who were blessed with your love, wisdom, and friendship. To say your absence leaves a void would be inadequate. My greatest hope is that the legacy of your strength and excellent character will continue to fortify each of them with comfort, support, and encouragement as they face the future.
