Ivan L. Boatwright, 77, of Sallisaw, passed away Monday March 20, 2017 at his residence. He was born on June 1, 1939 in Wanette, OK to Roy and Mary (Hix) Boatwright.Ivan retired as a MSgt from the U.S. Air Force after over 22 years of service. He then spent 20 years in the U.S. Postal Service before retiring again. He was a member of the American Legion and a member of Faith Assembly of God Church of Sallisaw.Ivan was preceded in death by his wife Wilma having being married for 47 years, Then was preceded in death by his wife Sharon having being married for 12 years. Also preceding him in death were his parents, Daughter-Carleta Lynn Boatwright and 2 brothers; Hollis Boatwright and Chester Boatwright.Ivan is survived by 2 daughters and sons-in-law; Juanita F. and Cecil Bolen and Lawatha R. and Don Langford, 1 sister-Leona Lawler and 1 brother-Harvey Boatwright. 12 Grandchildren; Leon Mears, Tabatha Cahill, Raechel Lott, Patrick and Hannah Cahill, Amber and Michael Leister, Stephen and Jessica Langford, Nicole and Rocky Edwards and Christina Hixson. 17 Great Grandchildren.Family to receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Forever Memories Funeral Services. Funeral will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 24, 2017 at Faith Assembly of God Church with Monroe Lowrimore, Dennis Brewer and John Bennett officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at 1:00 p.m., at Fort Smith National Cemetery. Casket bearers will be; Leon Mears, Stephen Langford, Roy Boatwright, Dennis Brewer, Larry Boatright and Patrick Cahill.
