Biography

Harold Ottaway Tounzen, 77, was born January 21, 1944 in Muldrow, Ok to Horace and Pauline Tounzen. He passed away Thursday, August 19, 2021, in Ft. Smith, Ar.

Harold was a rancher who loved to farm. He worked with his father-in-law for many years bailing hay and working cattle. He was a graduate Central High School and had worked for REC Cookson Hills Electric for many years. He was a member of Price Chapel Church in Sallisaw and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife Jeannette of the home; one daughter, Diane Tounzen Hine, and her husband John of Sallisaw, Ok; one grandson, Charles Tounzen of Sallisaw, Ok; nieces, Susan Barger of Sallisaw, Ok, Anita Tounzen of Collinsville, Ok, Tina Decker of McKinney, Tx; nephews, Dale Tounzen of Sallisaw, Ok, Chris Tounzen of Collinsville, Ok, and Anthony Fine of McKinney, Tx.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Henry Tounzen; a sister Patricia Tounzen Tyler; and a nephew, Jerry Max Richardson

Visitation for Harold will be held Friday evening, from 4-7pm in the Sequoyah Memorial Chapel of Forever Memories Funeral Services, 463505, Hwy 101, Sallisaw. Funeral services will be held in the Price Chapel Church, Hwy 59, Sallisaw, with interment in the Akins Cemetery. Rev. Raymond Estaban officiating. Active casket bearers are Don Tounzen, John Hine, Rodney Smith, Juan Estaban, Josh Holt and Buck Bucannon. Honorary casket bearers are John Ross, Kenneth Martindale, Skip Duty, Bro. Vernon Smith, Mike Huff and Roger Flute
