Edward Lee Smith Jr. “Chooch”, 60, from Vian passed away at his home on Thursday, July 2, 2020. He was born on Nov 1, 1959 in Tahlequah to Edward and Corrine (Buster) Smith. He loved his family and friends, and his dogs. He was a loving husband and is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 38 years, Elizabeth “Liz” Smith of the home; Step Son, Nathan Coble; brother Curtis Smith of Vian; Sisters, Lorrie and Ray Tatge of Woodridge, IL, Karen Cullison of Vian, and Tina and Eric Drum of Gore; nieces Dawn Smith, Amanda Tatge, Cheyenne Tianna, Colby Drum, all of Vian; Nephew, Corey Edward Smith of Vian; Great Nephews Jayden Adair and Barrett Lee Smith of Vian.Edward was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Roger Dale Smith.Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2020 from noon – 7:00 pm in the Sequoyah Memorial Chapel of Forever Memories Funeral Services, 463505 Hwy 101, Sallisaw.   2. My son and ED had dialysis at the same time at Divita. We became friends with him.I would practice my limited Cherokee language and was always pleased when he understood me and replied in turn. He always had a smile even after four hours of torture, that is dialysis. He is now pain free.Rest In Peace Big Guy: your friends Boyce and Jackie Rogers

  5. I am sorry to hear Ed passed away. He was such a friendly guy. He always spoke to me when I see him at Redbird Smith Clinic. I also work at Cherokee Nation but at Tah. I known Ed for many years. I will miss seeing him at the clinic. Prayers for his family n may you find comfort in the Lord.
