Biography

Darrel Stephen Parish, 82, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, passed away on June 28, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Darrel was born in Marion, Ohio, to George and Georgia Parish (Miller) on January 10, 1942. He was a proud coal miner and loved to share his stories of that time in his life whenever he got the chance. Darrel loved his country and honorably served in the United States Navy. He was a true patriot through and through. He was a member of the American Legion Post 27 and the Sallisaw VFW.

Darrel is survived by his spouse, Calista Parish, his children, Teddy Parish, Perry Simpson, Ronnie Parish, Jackie Parish, and Tammie Parish, 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents George and Georgia Parish, one sister, Debbie Parish, and two wives, Judith Haley and Evelyn Parish.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The family has entrusted the arrangements to Forever Memories Funeral Services, INC, Sallisaw, Oklahoma.

    I knew Mr Parish . His son Jackie is married to my daughter.
    He was very helpful when my husband was very I’ll. He came to visit and brought some used items that my husband needed at the time.
