Michael G Collins, passed from this life on June 10th, 2021, in Cushing, Oklahoma after having attained the age of 60 years, 4 months, and 7 days. He was born March 3rd, 1961, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, the son of Sadie Dykes-Collins and Glenn Collins. Michael was a loving Father and Papa, and had worked for the Cherokee Nation as a Supervisor with the Parks and Recreation Department for many years.
Survivors Are:
1 Daughter and 1 Son-In-Law: Sarah Collins of Vian, OK and Terry Qualls of Nicut, OK.; 2 Sons: Josh and Jacob Collins of Vian, OK, and a daughter Jessica Terry. 12 Grandchildren: Mackenzie Farrar, Alli Farrar, Garrett Malaska, Jocelyn Qualls, Chase Qualls, Rilye Collins, J.J. Collins, and Amelia Collins all of Vian, OK, also Michael, Elizabeth, Samara and Kaydence Terry; 2 Sisters: Beth Collins of Vian, OK and Marilyn Cochran of Stilwell, OK; 1 Brother: Mark Collins of Vian, OK; 1 Old Man: David Thornton of Vian, OK; And numerous Nieces, Nephews, Family, and Friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 Brothers: Myron “Dill” Collins and Clayton “Skeeter” McEver and 1 Sister: Linda “Udi” Kelly
Visitation for Mike will be on Monday, June 14, 2021, in the Sequoyah Memorial Chapel of Forever Memories Funeral Services, 463505 Hwy 101, Sallisaw from 4-7 pm. Funeral services will be held the next day, Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at 10:00 am in the Sequoyah Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mike McKinney officiating. Burial will follow in the McEver Family Cemetery, Vian. Casket bearers will be Joe McEver, Terry Qualls, Grant Collins, Bubba Johnson, Garrett Malaska, and Matt Cochran. Honorary bearers will be James Thornton, Gary Armer, Brandon McEver, Andy McEver, Mark Cochran, Mason Collins, Steve McEver, John Killer, Dalton Edwards, and Bryce Edwards.

I was so sad to see where Mike had passed away. We knew each other in high school. He was a nice guy who liked to laugh back then. We lost touch over time but I knew he was around the Vian area. I also worked with his mother Sadie at the Vian School. He will be missed by many.
Sorry for the loss of a decent man and a Cherokee citizen. Played many a softball these guys. Mike will be missed by so many.
